I use evidence-based strategies as well as a person-centered approach to individualize your needs, abilities and means to achieve your goals; BUT experience has taught me that a practitioner's informed intuitive sense is crucial for you to benefit from counseling. Therapy is a balance of where things are, where they could be and how to get where we want. This formula is not the same for everyone.

In my practice I focus on helping adults struggling with developmental trauma and PTSD, sex and pornography addiction, recovery from narcissistic abuse & traumatic bonding, and drug/alcohol addiction. Parents of addicted adults and folks with internet/gaming/screen addictions are also specialty areas.

He has a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University in Arlington, VA. Billy values the therapeutic relationship and strives to cultivate a safe, warm, and accepting space for clients to experience growth and transformation. Through a holistic approach to therapy, Billy meets clients where they are and develops personalized therapy goals that empower the client to make desired positive change in their lives.

The thing I most enjoy about being a counselor is it gives me the opportunity to see how truly resilient people are. I've had the privilege of working with couples who believed that their marriage was beyond repair, and with individuals who were convinced that they were broken. And I've seen those same individuals and couples work to develop new ways of thinking and relating to others, and work to confront past issues that were controlling their present.
