I am a systemically trained, collaborative marriage and family therapist with experience working with individuals, families, and couples. I am passionate about working with clients to identify, foster, and implement their inherent strengths to address the presenting issues. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults through a variety of presenting problems including anxiety, depression, divorce, step-families, life transitions, grief, infidelity, and marital issues to name a few.

Garth specializes in marriage, couples and family therapy and is passionate about the family unit and the various relationships within it. He has extensive experience working with children and young adults as well as with their parents to strengthen relationships and accomplish their goals. Garth's counseling approach is rooted in person centered and attachment theories. His desire is to develop a strong therapeutic relationship where people feel understood, valued and encouraged to be who they desire to be.

I believe that there are times in our lives when we need someone to help us navigate through painful and confusing situations we all encounter in life. Many times root causes can be found in both our past, as well as present circumstances. As a Christian counselor, I incorporate faith in the healing process. I believe that God can bring lasting change where human effort alone oftentimes fails. A void that allowed black and brown people to be left to find sometimes inadequate ways of dealing with real mental health issues. As you search you will find very few people that look like me that are in profession of mental health. This is unfortunate. Although my caseload is hugely diverse, what comforts my clients is I represent what in my field is lacking...a representative from a disenfranchised group of people helping to build up the individual, repairing relationships and making families whole.
