I am a certified EMDR therapist and use trauma focused, mindfulness, and Jungian oriented approaches to help people process trauma, manage anxiety and depression, and reestablish their connection to their core Self.
Do you sometimes find yourself operating from outdated beliefs and patterns that no longer serve you? Such patterns can hold us back and make life seem futile and meaningless, leaving us feeling drained and defeated. They may stem from traumatic experiences, difficult life transitions and challenging relationships. However, we can heal and find new meaning and inspiration in life even after major setbacks. Therapy can help us rekindle hope, creativity and purpose. I help people update their belief systems and functioning so they can regain their autonomy and live more adaptive, fuller versions of themselves.

I like to incorporate both CBT/DBT coping skills and Jungian concepts such as inner child work to ensure a holistic healing approach for my clients.
Hello and welcome! I'm Sierra. I'm a queer, anti-racist Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Atlanta, Georgia. I started my career as a therapist at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and if there is one thing I learned from that time it's that, more often than not, it's not you- it's the system. Since then I have been helping fellow women and members of the LGBTQ+ community rebuild self-esteem, manage anxiety, and heal unresolved trauma. I also help families of LGBTQ+ youth gain understanding about their child's experience and empower them to provide the best support they can.

By integrating Dream Work, Internal Family Systems Model, and Jungian Analytic Psychology I seek to facilitate the re-connection between inner essence and the unique aspects of your personality.
I would enjoy meeting with you where you are, as you are – whether you have a desire to connect and discuss matters that can be addressed over a few sessions or if life is inviting you to engage in depth work over a longer period of time. My life experiences, education, and work as a therapist have led me to an approach that centers on collaborating with you to creatively explore and integrate meaningful life experiences, joyful and painful, into your larger journey toward wholeness.

I frequently support clients working through depression, panic, trauma, addiction, grief and loss. I work with adults and couples as they navigate life transitions - jobs, relationships, wellness.

From childhood through late adulthood, there are certain times when we may need help addressing problems and issues that cause us emotional distress or make us feel overwhelmed. Together we work towards growth by identifying the issues involved, establishing goals, and becoming increasingly aware of reoccurring patterns that prevent growth. As awareness of one’s fears, perception, desires, and strengths increase, we are able to make successful life changes. Self-awareness by becoming more honest with ourselves can initiate the authenticity that often results in healing, transformation, and fuller life.

Whether you are facing life challenges such as relationship problems, addiction, work concerns, or health issues, you can move through with more elegance and ease. To me therapy is a gift--a gift of opportunity. An opportunity to heal from the past by increasing understanding of it and gleaning from it the gems that it holds. An opportunity to break long-held rigid patterns born of that past and to start consciously creating new, flexible ones. An opportunity to hold hope for a future free from the past that makes the present a time of freedom and choice.

Sometimes it's hard to reach out for help when life presents unexpected challenges. Perhaps your relationship has soured. Maybe your child has you ready to yank your hair out. Has dealing with aging parents taken its toll on your emotions? Are you an athlete looking to take your game to the next level? Need help coping with nagging pain? There are times in life when you need to talk to someone who can help you see things from a new perspective, resolve your issues, and get back into the game of life.

Life can be confusing, overwhelming, & mystifying. Maybe you feel worried, fearful, sad or lonely, & want to improve your emotional well-being. Relationships & circumstances sometimes exceed our abilities to cope effectively and we need someone to guide and support us on our journey toward positive mental health. We are each a part of various systems (couple-hood, family, work, faith, community, school). Navigating those systems in healthy ways can feel confusing & difficult; therapy can help you develop insight, perspective, self-understanding, & coping skills to manage your life better.

Hi, I'm Amy. Therapy is a way to honor and care for yourself and I'm glad that you are doing so. Whether you are going through a difficult time or your daily life has you unsettled, I am here to help. If you are "just getting through" each day and feeling overwhelmed, please know I understand. If you are grieving a loss and finding it hard to cope, I have been there too. Life's inevitable difficulties brought me to a place that inspired me to help others going through similar circumstances. My goal is to help you get through the hard stuff and find more peace and harmony in your life.

For almost 30 years, through understanding and nurturing, I've helped people live happier lives. Pain has been normalized and we get locked into toxic cycle, then suffer. Learning to love and accept yourself through tough experiences can seem hard to do; but once you learn how to change how you think and feel, the situation else will change too. I also use humor as a healing tool. I have a Marriage Family Child Therapy degree and provide psychotherapy to diverse groups of people from racial & cultural backgrounds, men & women and high profile patients.

There was a time in life when asking for help was the hardest thing to do. To be honest, even as a professional counselor, asking for help is sometimes still hard. But it is easier to overcome. Depression and Anxiety is the most hidden illness among African American women today. Our culture teaches us that it is weak to ask for help and gaining a badge of honor means sacrificing your mental well being so that other can be happy. It's time to break the cycle and generational curse or mental illness in the BIPOC communities. It's time to seek help.

Jungian Therapists

How does Jungian therapy work?

Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.

How long does Jungian therapy last?

Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.

Is Jungian therapy effective?

According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.

Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?

Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
