I am committed to providing neurodiversity-affirming mental health care through an integrative approach that uses modalities such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, mindfulness-based, radical self-compassion, strengths-based, sensory, and trauma-informed approaches.
I am a neurodivergent therapist and I enjoy working collaboratively with adults who identify as neurodivergent, may question their neurotype, or care for a neurodivergent loved one. I believe self-identified neurodivergence is valid and I affirm the neurodivergent culture.

From an integrative and brain/body perspective, I focus on tangible and actionable strategies to help people restore balance, calm, and mental wellness quickly.
Sometimes happiness feels just beyond your fingertips. You are struggling to juggle all of the aspects of life. You are feeling overwhelmed, worried, deep sadness, numb, exhausted, and/or you just don't feel good enough no matter what you do. Maybe you have had a recent life change/transition or maybe you have experienced trauma. You want to feel relief and you want to feel joy. You need an appointment soon and you want it to be with a therapist who is genuine, can understand your situation and needs, and who is able to help you accomplish your goals.

The mission for healing at Inner Light Counseling is to help individuals feel reconnected to their core selves and their inner wisdom. Therapy at Inner Light Counseling can help if: it seems like your emotions or emotional responses are ruling your life and relationships rather than you leading the direction of your life; symptoms of PTSD, depression, or anxiety are making it challenging to live the life that you want; it feels like your inner voice is your worst critic, or, it feels like that voice is drowned out by critical messages you received from others on life’s journey. We can work together to help your inner wisdom lead.

I have specialized training in integrative health and expertise in the neurobiology of giftedness.
Hello, I am a doctorate level licensed psychologist in Edina, MN. I've been in private practice for more than 20 years but have been working with children and families for over 30 years. I work primarily with teens and college students/young adults as well as adults, families, and provide parent support. I am holistic in my approach, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and integrative health approaches to improving emotional health. I think the most important part of initiating therapy is finding a therapist that you connect with and is a 'good fit'.

I'll meet you where you are at, listen to your story and work to understand your treatment needs using sound integrative family system theory and Christian faith.
Covid fatigue is heightening our stress and relation issues. Loss of what is familiar is challenging. It's time to talk to someone to get a different perspective, new coping method or help with a significant lifestyle change. Grief, anxiety and depression are increasing due to the stress of the pandemic. Issues you are experiencing for yourself, your relationship, marriage and family are heightened causing elevated emotional, spiritual and physical distress. I see you as an individual made of body, soul and spirit in God's image and beleive you are worthy of dignity. I'd like to help you live well through a systemic approach.

Integrative Therapists

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
