I offer an integrative approach which combines traditional talk therapy with guided mindfulness meditations and body-centered, in-the-moment practices.
Though your life may be good objectively; inside you are struggling and unable to enjoy it. You are sensitive, intelligent, and creative, but instead of valuing these parts of yourself, you've been self-critical. You compare yourself to others, and believe you don't measure up. Work is often stressful and unsatisfying. You may have relationships with a partner or friends, but you still feel lonely and isolated. Therapy can help you understand yourself better, and learn how to communicate in relationships -- both authentically and effectively. The goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself and to the people in your life.

I utilize a trauma-informed and integrative lens when exploring challenges within the different systems that couples, individuals, and families function.
Realizing that it is time for change within ourselves and in our relationships can feel overwhelming, especially coupled with stresses of daily life. My mission is to help you foster the courage and resilience it takes to strengthen your relationships and live life authentically with tangible steps. Whether you are a couple who feels disconnected and hurt from conflict and ineffective communication, a parent who has concerns about your child's fears and anxieties, or an individual who feels lonely and confused, there are ways to restore and redefine your sense of purpose, your feelings of connection, and create productive patterns.

Complementing my doctorate in psychology, I have 300+ hours of yoga teacher training (ERYT-200, CRYT), and teacher trainings in Integrative Restoration®/Yoga Nidra, Mindful Schools (Foundations; Difficult Emotions), Yoga for Emotional Balance, and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga.
Are you experiencing anxiety, depression, parenting difficulties, chronic stress, life transitions or the effects of trauma? Would you like psychotherapy to be a collaborative process, where we determine a personalized approach to our work together? I typically blend insight-oriented therapy to deepen self-understanding, mindfulness practices to cultivate awareness and compassion, cognitive-behavioral interventions for symptom relief, and mind-body medicine for regulating the nervous system. With specialized training in yoga and meditation, I enjoy interweaving Western clinical psychology with Eastern yoga and mindfulness-based practices for a holistic, strengths based, mind-body approach to health and well being.

I have post-graduate certificates in Treating Children & Adolescents, Leadership, Fitness Nutrition, and Integrative Medicine for Mental Health providers.
Hi there, I'm Laurie! Do you wish providers would look at you through a whole person lens instead of discussing health and mental health separately? Do you have a teen who has had difficulty connecting to other providers? Well look no further! I enjoy using storytelling, videos, and conversation to help clients of all ages improve self-esteem, self-worth and gain a better understanding of sense of self.

I use an integrative approach, blending various evidence-based treatments and techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, ERP, and acceptance- and compassion-based therapies.
I endeavor to help clients better to understand the nature and nuances of their particular difficulties so that they can live a rich, meaningful life. I have experience helping people with a wide array of psychological difficulties, including OCD, anxiety, depression, anger, relational difficulties, and major life transitions. Before beginning my clinical psychology training I worked in business at multiple private-sector organizations - I leverage this distinctive combination of experience and expertise when working with all clients, and especially those who find their work lives impacted by their struggles.

Integrative Therapists

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
