I have been involved in therapy for almost twenty years working in areas of criminal justice, social services, mental health, welfare and addiction treatment. I have enjoyed working with all age clients-each having different challenges. Although I enjoy working with all clients, areas of specialization: Adolescent behavioral issues, gambling and addictive behaviors, family and marriage counseling. I encourge clients to work on two main objectives: Self Empowerment and Acceptance of who they choose to be. I do not judge a person because of their concerns, I try to help them learn the tools to avoid future problems.

Accepting new clients! I completed my Masters at St Francis and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Master Addiction Counselor. I previously spent 15 years in the child welfare field working with families, children, and adolescents both in and out of the home and have run court-ordered substance abuse groups. I now own my own practice, which is a culmination of all my previous experiences. At Thrive Therapy I take a holistic and integrated approach, treating each client as an individual with unique needs. Every session is tailored according to the client's current situation.

I enjoy working with clients who want to gain insight into their emotions and behaviors. If you are wanting to learn more about your emotions, how your emotions interfere with accomplishing your goals, and how your behaviors impact your relationships, you are my ideal client. I utilize a systemic approach while working with clients and design treatment strategies that are highly effective in the reduction of symptoms. The therapeutic relationship is key to treatment success. My treatment orientation integrates Family Systems, Cognitive Restructuring, Experiential, Reality Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness.

I am a licensed mental health counselor and therapist with The Aberdeen Group. I have dedicated a great deal of my academic studies to understanding the unique dynamics of relationships with our ourselves and others. I believe that as humans we all need to experience feelings of belonging and significance and strive to help others develop and maintain these two basic needs. My passion is to help kids, teens and families feel more peace, joy and confidence in their lives again. I have helped children and adults since 2003 with specialized training in play therapy, family counseling, and addiction recovery as well as utilizing best evidence-based practices, including EMDR, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapies. Sometimes, we just need a safe place to express our feelings, stress, grief, insecurities and fears. Our kids need it. Our partners need it. We all need it sometimes. I believe I have been successful for almost 30 years in the field of mental health counseling because I approach each client I meet with curiosity. I respect each that client has an individual experience, their own life challenges and strengths. And each client has individual goals and vision for their life. Our life experiences, challenges and strengths shape each one of us and I believe it's important to approach each person at the most basic level of being curious about who they are. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. By using Cognitive Processing Therapy and Exposure Therapy, I treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have knowledge working with individuals that have experienced traumas related to military, sexual trauma, and stressful events such as COVID-19. I also have expertise with using Parent Child Interaction Therapy to work with parents of children with emotional and behavior issues. I assist with helping you bond, cope and have more confidence as a parent.

I love working with kids and seeing how play transforms lives! I am a clinical social worker and a registered play therapist (RPT). I have worked with kids with a variety of concerns including behaviors, trauma, and regulation. I'm very playful in my approach, using a lot of sensory tools and activities specific to each child. I am client-centered, strengths based, trauma-informed and use an eclectic approach.

Many of my clients have sought help from MDs, and even alternative health practitioners, only to discover the source of their pain and exhaustion was untreated trauma. But I would love to tell you, there is hope: there is treatment for shock and trauma.

My greatest joy in being a therapist is helping others find peace and comfort in the chaos that our world brings us. I work with people in addressing a variety of issues/challenges including anxiety and depression management, grief, trauma, life transitions, women's issues, and relationship issues.
