As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, I work with adults and children with a variety of issues in conjunction with or separately from family therapy/consultation. My focus is on clarifying and addressing the issues that bring each individual into counseling and creating a partnership and treatment plan that will support change and growth. I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is crucial to creating the environment needed for change. Social and emotional difficulties rarely emerge in isolation, but rather from a variety of experiences and interactions.

I have 26 years experience in the provision of therapy in an outpatient setting to treat a diverse array of presenting problems. I assist clients in problem solving more productive and healthier ways to cope with their unique challenges. A guiding principal in my work is to aid clients in achieving congruence between the person they wish to be and the person they are, thereby continually striving for authenticity. I wish to aid my clients in achieving their fullest potential in order to live gratifying lives personally and professionally.

I have worked with a broad range of clients and am capable of quickly making and maintaining the close connection necessary in therapy to make changes and achieve results. I love what I do and look forward each day to working with and helping others in any way possible.

Our life's work is helping clients achieve a better sense of self and happiness...more recently we've recognized that without good mental health providers, finding this balance in life can be more difficult and stressful. As a result, we tend toward an Integrative approach and help our clients transform into the people they want to be. We see each client as an individual with many parts to their identity. Utilizing a holistic and systemic approach we help clients reintegrate the parts of themselves to function better as individuals and within their systems. Our focus tends toward a systems based approach using behavior methods.

I have broad experience working with women and men on medical issues and mood disorders. I also have received specialized training in working with Dissociative Identity Disorder (multiple personality disorder) and adult sexual abuse survivors. She primarily works with adults with anxiety, depression, or mood disorders seeking compassionate and personalized care. With a genuine desire for personal growth, they seek a therapist who can provide empathic support, practical coping strategies, and a safe space for exploration.

My specialty is couple and family counseling, and of course, I also see individuals ages 12 and up. I have significant experience working with children and families who are involved with DCFS. I have helped families deal with issues such as divorce/re-marriage, and child abuse. I also enjoy working with parents who are re-thinking their parenting style and want to work towards a more satisfying relationship with their child(ren).
