I am committed to supporting my clients ability to grow and change. As a Humanist, I believe that people are always striving to succeed, but at times are blocked by fears, doubts and loss of clear identity. I see my clients as collaborators in the therapeutic process, and together we create a personal path for healing and growth, that incorporates soundly researched therapeutic techniques.
I utilize several approaches within Humanistic framework. These help the client identify areas for change and come to their own answers. I also incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral techniques in order to increase coping strategies and empower clients to make changes in the here and now that will enhance their lives.
My style is supportive and non-judgemental in order to create a safe and trusting atmosphere. As a couple therapist I see my role as both coach and facilitator. I like to offer feedback so that the therapeutic relationship becomes a collaboration. This can include goal setting and tracking progress.
