There are many individuals who, at some point in their lives, will experience trauma. Often causing a myriad of ripple effects, trauma occurs in different ways for each person- such as depression, anxiety, co-dependency, negative self-image, and unhealthy family dynamics/relationships. Whether it stems from childhood, medical or mental health struggles, relationships, or specific events, there are various origins of trauma in our stories. I have experience walking alongside individuals to uncover how trauma changes one's mindset to aid them in getting to the root of unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors.

I believe in the innate dignity of all people, and the work I do as a counselor is to encourage and empower people to live up to their personal values and embrace a more abundant life. When I work with a client I meet them where they are, without judgment, and enter into a working relationship built on trust, empathy, vulnerability, and communication. I have a person-centered approach to therapy, meaning that I respect the people who walk into my office enough to trust them to make decisions for themselves. I believe change is inevitable, but also, often painful, but that doesn't mean we can't work to find hope and grace.

Taking steps to get counseling takes a lot of courage. I believe that everyone has their own unique experience and challenges, and that you don't have to go through it on your own. It is my goal to guide you closer to a balanced and happy life. I typically work with adults and adolescents ages 11-17 with anxiety, depression, body image, self-esteem, and coping skills. I am passionate about working with people who are marginalized (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Women etc.).

I understand that going through life's ups and downs can be difficult can make you feel really alone. While struggling with different stressors, it can be beneficial to have an outside perspective to listen, encourage, and provide thoughtful solutions. My goal is to be there for you throughout any issue that you are going through, so that you feel understood and to help you overcome any obstacle to your happiness.

I focus on person-centered growth while using therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, person centered, play therapy, and interpersonal therapy to empower all individuals through the process of healing and understanding.

My therapeutic approach is compassionate, validating, and empathic. I believe that everyone wants to feel heard, understood, valued, and validated and I work with you to gain an understanding of who you are and what you want. I believe therapy is a very personal journey and I strive to ensure every client feels incredible support. I believe that therapy is a healing process. We find the parts of ourselves that need healing to lead us to a better quality of life. I work with all races, sexual orientations, and genders.
