As both a Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Life Coach, I love to help people achieve personal and relational growth and healing. I seek to identify people's strengths and affirm who they are in order to empower them toward the changes they desire to make. We discern together what is getting in the way of living life to the fullest. I bring a wide array of life experiences and insights into my professional work that enhance my effectiveness with clients. Who I am as a Christian is an integral part of who I am as a professional.

I have a passion for working with younger people who are experiencing many of life's firsts: first love, first heartache, first time leaving home, etc. I have taught a court ordered class on Parenting Through Divorce for more than 20 years and have helped many children and adults through that intense life transition. More recently I have worked with people who are struggling with a different life transition--those who are entering their "third act" of life and considering developing new meaning and satisfaction in life after they have launched their children.

Many people go through times when they have trouble with even the simple tasks in life. Relationships, work, family and life purpose can become overwhelming at times. Denene Lewis has been working in the mental health field for over 25 years and has been providing counseling services for 20+ years. Her approach is integrative and individualized to meet each client’s needs. The goal is to assist clients in reaching their full potential through education, teaching, and modeling skills while helping them identify barriers that prevent change.

My ideal client is someone who struggles with anxiety and putting themselves last on their list. There will likely be relationship issues and lower self-worth. They love deeply and try so hard not to be a burden. Unfortunately, that's how they see themselves, as a burden. The truth is though, when we really look at it, they are carrying all the burdens. The best relationships with us and others comes through clarity on what you need, what you have to give, and boundaries. Interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation and boundaries can bring calm to your life, healing to your relationships and personal joy.
