Katie spends much of her time working with individuals and couples at various stages in their life; helping them explore relationship patterns, healthy boundaries, and experiences from their past that may be contributing to conflict. She believes that we all desire connections with others, but often life experiences complicate this. Katie has extensive training in treating trauma and is a Certified Clinical Professional Trauma (CCTP) therapist.

I believe that in order to effectively navigate relationships, whether at home, in the workplace, or within the community, it is essential to understand and address the dynamics of the larger systems at play. I like using nature and activities in counseling along with art to help process our stories. We use metaphors in adventure therapy and interactive games in play therapy to grow in new ways. I have experience also as a coach, teacher, and youth leader. We have raised 2 children and had a foster son. I supervise Cathy who is a PLPC/CIT2 and enjoys working with women/teens. We all are skilled in interpersonal process therapy.

I believe providing a safe, non-judgement space with kind, clear communication is foundational to a therapeutic relationship. Since 2009, I have provided individual and group care in a variety of settings to Veterans and people with disabilities (with an emphasis on acquired disabilities). I work with adults and am sex positive, kink and poly friendly.
