I am passionate about working with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol abuse, sex and porn addiction, bullying and low self-esteem, spiritual issues, grief and trauma recovery. I also have experience working with couples and families and enjoy seeing the healing that can occur in relationships through counseling. I see clients both in person and online.

My passion is working with kids (5+), adolescents, young adult women, and athletes/sports teams facing challenges such as anxiety, life changes, perfectionistic tendencies, self-esteem, managing big emotions, and sports performance. The clients I support are high-achieving, motivated, and goal driven individuals needing someone to walk alongside them in their therapy journey. My goal is to assist clients in reaching their full potential by offering them unconditional encouragement while building upon their strengths and talents.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and R.N. in private practice in Georgia and Michigan. My doctoral dissertation researched grief and loss issues. I worked as a psychologist in MI for 24 years and in 2013 moved to GA and established a private practice. For over 2 decades I have presented workshops and seminars nationally at numerous professional organizations with a specialty in the field of dying, grief, and loss. I was widowed at 46, and have co-authored 5 books on grief and 1 on dying. I see clients online or in-person for a variety of counseling needs and co-facilitate educational grief groups (including GriefShare).

Couples (both married and unmarried) experiencing relational issues including communication, trust issues and even those considering separation or divorce. Additionally, I work with engaged couples in providing premarital counseling. I also work with musicians and entertainers experiencing "creative blocks" and looking to deal with feelings of depression, performance anxiety, and self-esteem issues. Lastly, I work with high profile individuals such as pastors, physicians and corporate executives with high pressure careers.

As a therapist specializing in both young children and young adult women, I recognize the unique challenges each group faces. For children aged 7 to 11, struggles with self-esteem, sadness, friendships, and school can be overwhelming. They may retreat inward when distressed, making it hard for parents to connect. Moreover, the burden of worrying excessively about others’ opinions can drown out their voices. Parents, while supportive, often find themselves unsure of how best to help. In my practice, I specialize in Play Therapy and Child-Centered approaches, offering a safe environment for children to explore their emotions.

My intention in working with you is to help you change unwanted behavior patterns. These patterns are frequently based on negative conclusions we may have drawn about ourselves in the past. I typically use a blend of traditional talk therapy combined with experiential approaches such as Brainspotting,, hypnotherapy, breathwork, psychodrama, and meditation. In this way we are able to re-introduce you to your strengths as well as take the healing to a deeper level.
