I am a Professional Counselor with more than seven years of experience in mental health and substance use disorders. Specialty license in Rehabilitation Counseling with emphasis on physical disabilities, vocational services, career counseling and developmental disorders are available. Case management services and psychosocial rehabilitation counseling is provided. Life skills training is available. Support groups are offered for Parenting, Mood disorders, Substance Abuse, Emotional and Behavioral issues, and Post-Partum Depression.

Hello and welcome! I provide a creative and exploratory environment for children, preteens, teens, and their families to navigate through the anxiety and struggles of life's challenges. With a foundation in expressive therapy and play therapy, based on client presentation and needs, I integrate both directive and non-directive play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and mind/body connection. I find that therapy is not a one size fits all experience and I strive to engage clients in creatively finding what will support them within the therapeutic experience.

In this day and time Mental Health is something that is not only overlooked but often misunderstood.  I strive to provide needed support for my clients no matter what life challenges they may be facing. I work with them to pilot through these challenges of life, whether they are personal, with family, or with peers.  My ideal clients are millennials who find themselves facing challenges navigating through the transition to adulthood. In many cases, this transition can cause stress, anxiety, depression and self-esteem issues.

Like you, my clients have been through tragic things that happen in movies like being raped by their own parent, having it swept under the rug, and being seen as the black sheep of the family; being treated like dirt, bullied by their family, and left alone to fend for themselves; being cheated on and learning years later the son or daughter they've raised isn't theirs biologically; witnessing the suicide, homicide, or brutal abuse of their loved ones while hiding and holding their breath under the bed or in the closet; and being refused opportunities and otherwise oppressed because of their racial or sexual identity.

I have been fortunate to work with diverse groups of people. I have worked therapeutically with children, adolescents, adults, and families and have had extensive training and experience in the assessment of a range of psychological conditions including ADHD and learning disorders.

I work with children, teenagers, adults, and families to create a safe, supportive space for growth, open communication, and personal development. My primary areas of expertise include anxiety, perfectionism, and self-esteem/identity concerns. I am an affirming provider for LGTBQ+ individuals and use trauma-informed techniques with all my clients. Additionally, I provide play therapy services and parenting support to kids and their caregivers experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. Through integrative play-based interventions, I help children and families find new ways to communicate and manage life stressors to get the family life they desire. I work to create an open, supportive environment where children and families are able to express themselves freely and learn new ways to cope and interact.

Trauma, life stress, and emotional difficulties can cause persons to encounter challenges at home, work, and school. Some experiences are routine, although sometimes events create less positive outcomes in family/peer relationships or school/work performance. Persons can feel overly worried or hopeless; engage in damaging behaviors; or face changes to socializing, eating, or sleeping habits. If you are experiencing challenges, I can help you help you modify old patterns using various modalities.
