As a therapist, I specialize in helping people navigate challenges such as anxiety, perfectionism, identity exploration, and healing from attachment trauma. I especially love working with those who feel disconnected from their current lives and are exploring their identity and purpose. Many of my clients realize they need change but don't know where to start. They often have struggled with anxiety, burnout, and relational trauma, leading to repetitive painful patterns and isolation. These patterns, once protective, now cause pain and suffering. I have an affinity for working with LGBTQ+ folks and those living nontraditional paths.

At times, it can be difficult to admit to ourselves when we are in need of help. It can be even more difficult to admit this to someone else. Counseling, however, creates a safe space to share struggles, fears, feelings, experiences, and more. Counseling can provide peace of mind in good times or bad. As a counselor it is my goal to provide you with a space that is warm and welcoming, and one which you can come as you are! I provide counseling services from a non-judgmental and empathetic point of view.

I enjoy working with the impact of a difficult childhood, coming-of-age topics, self-confidence, anxiety and depression, and change in general.
How does safe space, acceptance just as you are, and conversation in which you feel met affect you? Do you find you are better able to say what’s really going on when carefully listened to and with no rush? I believe therapy is an opportunity to pause in the busy life we usually live to explore what we really think and feel. It is also a chance to explore your strengths, what is working, and what is getting in your way. Together we seek to hear your inner wisdom speak more and more distinctly. I am here to offer you a grounded, secure presence for the work you have come to do.

Feeling anxious, tense, and struggling to move on from your past is your day-to-day norm right now... and it absolutely sucks. You’re overwhelmed, your thoughts are looping, and this cycle feels impossible- much like that to do list for the big life goal you’ve been putting off. Your self-confidence has been impacted, you're not sure who you are anymore and your body is tired. Your go-to ways of dealing with life aren’t cutting it, and you’re seeing it’s time to take your healing to the next level. Therapy is something you’ve done in the past, but may have just dipped your toes into and now you’re seeing it’s time to dive in.

Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Trauma, Mood Disorders, and ADHD are just a few of the areas I can be of assistance.
I may be a counselor but I'm always Jasmine. I bring my authentic self to each session so my clients can feel safe to do the same. I strive to meet my clients where they are and assist them in gaining the tools they need to accomplish whatever goals they have set for themselves and become the version of themselves they desire. I don't believe in the "one size fits all" method and truly tailor not only my approach for that client based on their needs but also each session. I'd be honored to assist anyone in the journey with mental health wellness. Who said games are for kids? Therapy Uno anyone?

Many people who come to me are experiencing anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, and decreased self-esteem.
Experience tells me that most people who seek counseling feel unable to make changes in their life that could bring them greater happiness. I consider it my responsibility and a privilege to facilitate your journey of self-empowerment to make these desired changes. Together we will explore how current patterns of feeling, thinking and acting could be altered by increasing mindfulness and self-compassion. While most of our focus is on the present and future, I also seek to honor your past by exploring how unresolved feelings may be hindering your growth and ability to meet personal goals.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
