Approaches include: Play Therapy, CBT, Exposure Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), Solution Focused Therapy.
Welcome! My practice is open during early EVENING hours to accommodate after school schedules. I have been fortunate to have 19 years of counseling experience in both the school setting and the private sector, working with children ranging in ages 5-18, adults, and with families. While working with children and adolescents, I believe that the family dynamic is an extremely important part of the therapeutic process, and will often involve parents and siblings in therapy when it is helpful. I also work with parents who need support with parenting help in many different scenarios (toddlers to teens).

I'm also trained in ERP, a helpful approach for anxiety and OCD.
Are you looking for a place to work through trauma's impact, heal amidst anxiety, and find peace as your authentic self? I would be honored to cultivate space for you to share your story and be met with compassion. Seeking out therapy is courageous and rewarding. I believe everyone can benefit from therapy, as we all face challenges in this life. My vision is to journey with clients as we lean into the truths that our stories and experiences are valid, and finding compassion for our imperfections is often where we find our greatest strength.

I have extensive training in Play Therapy, DBT, ERP for anxiety and OCD as well as specific phobias.
I believe in helping people discover their ability to be resilient and how to live in the present moment. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming with too many expectations from school, work, friends, etc. Anxiety is normal, until it becomes unmanageable and begins to restrict your ability to function in your daily life. I can help you push back on your anxiety and learn to feel better equipped to set boundaries with anxiety.

I am trained in a variety of advanced therapies to provide comprehensive healing including IFS, EMDR, RO-DBT, and ERP.
Everyone else thinks you've got it all together. Inside, though, you feel like you have to fill a role to fit in your own life. You have to be perfect, maybe rehearse what you'll say ahead of time, and then tell yourself that no one cares about you since they can't get close enough to know the real you. You know how to appear confident but deep inside, there is this voice telling you that no one sees you. You crave the feelings of safety and acceptance. You want to feel connected to the people you love. Instead, you feel desperate to maintain control and feel stuck in painful relationships.

I integrate ERP (gold standard for OCD), CBT, and ACT therapies.
Having been in therapy myself, I understand how intimidating and uncomfortable it can feel to ask for help, especially at our lowest moments. On the other side of this discomfort, however, is the opportunity to live a healthier, more connected, more authentic life. I’m here to create a compassionate and non-judgemental space in between. I specialize in working with adults, with a specific focus on OCD and anxiety. I am also passionate about working with young adults navigating the confusing, often tumultuous transition to adulthood and working life.

My areas of practice are DBT, ERP, Clinical Hypnotherapy and EMDR.
As an intensively trained DBT therapist, I use a collaborative approach to help clients build A Life Worth Living. As a performance coach and certified personal trainer, I assist clients in integrating their health and fitness goals with their current lifestyle as well as helping them understand and manage the impact of their emotions on their fitness, health and day to day life. In teaching skills to both groups, I work together with clients to develop their own plan for overcoming the emotional and physical barriers currently challenging them and then how to create their path for moving forward and achieving their goals.

I've completed specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD.
Has anxiety or OCD taken a starring role your life? You have aspirations but they fall victim to doubts: “what ifs,” catastrophes, fear of judgement, panic. Or maybe compulsions are preventing you from engaging the way you want to. I can help you kick anxiety to the back seat so you can accomplish your goals and achieve the peace you deserve.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists

Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?

Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?

Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?

While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?

The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
