My name is Glory Ann Zapata and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Miami, Florida and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns and diagnoses including depression, stress and anxiety, LGBTQ-related issues, trauma, schizophrenia spectrum disorder, homelessness, bipolar disorders, HIV and STD's, tobacco, substance and alcohol use, relationship issues, self-esteem, chronic pain and career counseling.

I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida with over 15 years of experience. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, including addictions (drugs, alcohol, gambling, eating, shopping, and hoarding), depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, trauma, children and adolescents in foster care, OCD, and eating disorders. I am a qualified supervisor for therapists, have treated professionals with substance abuse disorders to maintain their licensure, and was employed as a psycho-forensic evaluator for the Public Defender's Office in Delaware.

My approach is neurodiversity affirming. My role as an evaluator is to listen, understand, & accept a client's lived experience & help identify their struggles, as well as identifying their strengths and aspirations. The evaluation process is a collaborative one in which clients, regardless of age (youths get to be truly heard), have an opportunity to share experiences without time constraints & without having to be viewed solely through a set of test data & questionnaires. While these tools can help clients communicate concerns, test data alone is not the best method in truly understanding one's unique experiences & circumstances.

Throughout our therapy, I will walk alongside you, and try to understand the direction you want to take in your life, while helping you develop insight into what may be impeding you from your goals. We will begin by exploring your narrative through a casual conversation, and then catering treatment to your goals by strengthening the areas in your life where you shine, and working through the areas of your life that have been met with suffering. This may include mindfulness techniques in order to establish a sense of equilibrium, learning how to have healthier boundaries, and enhancing communication within your relationships.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist/Counselor that has been working since 2016 with a variety of clients dealing with Depression, Anxiety, Panic, Bipolar, Sleep Disorders, ADHD, Moderate to Severe Mental Illness, Substance Abuse, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Maladaptive Child Behaviors, and Trauma. I also provide behavioral parent training to parents with children who struggle with ADHD and Oppositional Defiance.
