I am a therapist/drug counselor/dating coach that is warm and caring. I start with developing an authentic relationship, then proceed to processing your feelings and thoughts with added behavioral tools. Helping you feel accepted, understood, and supported so we can explore and organize experiences and create new ways of coping. My practice is focused on treating young adults who may be facing challenges in their personal, social, or dating life. Therapy is one way of helping yourself not only with discovering the root causes of your behavior, but also to identify one's truth and inner reality.

Therapy with me is about slowing down and making space for the parts of you that feel hidden, stuck, or misunderstood. In a fast-paced world that values quick results, the opportunity to connect through speaking and listening is a transformative gift. I pay close attention to unconscious patterns to help you explore where they come from and how they continue to show up and cause you suffering. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship issues, or questions of belonging, I honor your unique complexity and story and allow you the space to pause, reflect, and perhaps rewrite the story instead of letting the story write you.

Note: I am now accepting new group coaching clients only. I no longer offer individual therapy services. I am a Christian counselor/coach and my passion is helping people experience the power of real connection and break free from addictive and compulsive behaviors such as porn, sex, alcohol, drugs, food, work, video games, etc. After 20 years of providing both individual and group therapy, I have discovered that group work is the game-changer. Clients in weekly recovery groups consistently experience faster, deeper, and more lasting transformation, period. That’s why I now focus exclusively on the power of group coaching work.

Hi, I’m Rebecca. I help deep-feeling, high-capacity adults who are exhausted from living in survival mode finally feel safe in their own bodies. Many of my clients are queer, neurodivergent, or first-generation, and they’ve spent years performing, over-functioning, or masking just to get through the world. You might look “fine” on the outside, but inside you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or untethered, especially when rest feels impossible or your nervous system won’t cooperate. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing what’s broken, because you’re not broken. You’re stuck. And together, we can begin to move through.

Alcohol Use Therapists

Are there specific medications for alcohol use?

There are oral medications approved to treat alcohol use disorder—such as disulfiram, acamprosate, and naltrexone, which also comes in an injectable form. These medications do help people reduce their drinking as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone helps reduce cravings, disulfiram can make a person feel sick when they drink, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.

How do alcohol recovery or rehabilitation programs work?

In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other patients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals live at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff can also include people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other tools for recovery.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?

Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for alcohol use reduce the amount of alcohol they intake. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
