I am a (LPC) Licensed Professional Counselor, (LMFT) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and (LADC) Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have been licensed since 1999, and provide therapy services, consultation and supervision. I have worked with families, foster families, couples, children, adolescent, teens and adults. I have provided individual, family and group services. I assist with parenting, support, relationships, grief, trauma, anger, depression, defiance, anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation and sexual issues. I believe no one is beyond the hope of healing.

As a therapist, my goal is to provide a trusting, supportive relationship by working to meet your individual and family needs. I will assist in growth by bringing awareness to issues, helping develop appropriate solutions and provide ethical researched based treatment. My hopes are you will leave the counseling experience feeling prepared and empowered. My belief is you are the EXPERT and my role is to provide a safe environment for you to find the answers to improving your life.

My role is helping others find their own unique solutions by assessing the difficulties they're experiencing in their lives. TEENAGERS ARE CRAZY! Well at least it seems like it for a few years. Raising a teenager can be a roller coaster ride, exciting and a little scary. Typically teens experience an enormous amount physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth during these years. Providing teens with the opportunity to take part in their own counseling allows them to further develop skills which promote independence. The Prevention Center, LLC will help your child improve their overall functioning at home, school, within the family, and with peers/social environment. We provide adolescent counseling to children ages 12- 18.

I work with children, teens, and families. I also work with couples and individual adults. I use a family systems theoretical approach. I do play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and brief solution focused therapy. Outside of my private practice, I have been a school counselor, as well as, develop and lead social skills groups for kids.

Thank you for your interest in my practice. I am a LPC with twenty years of mental health experience. I believe that therapy works best when it is a collaborative effort with therapist and client working together. While my approach is eclectic, recognizing that there is not a 'one size fits all' approach to counseling, I do work primarily from a Psychodynamic and Interpersonal perspective. There is more to counseling than a particular theoretical orientation. Providing a safe, supportive environment and the ability to sense what a person needs at a particular time are important therapeutic skills.

I join my clients in their healing process that addresses emotional disturbances, trauma and intergenerational issues. We take a close look at the sense of belonging, what is out of order, and we work on restoring the balance in the client's life among other things.
