I have been working in the field of psychology since 1995 and have vast experience working with clients of all ages and with challenging issues. I believe that the key to successful therapy begins with an empathetic and sincere relationship between the client and therapist. My approach is somewhat eclectic, meaning I tailor my approach to meet the needs of my clients. I employ a biopsychosocial model coupled with psychoeducation, humor and cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal therapy as a foundation. As a former Division I athlete, I am sensitive to the challenges athletes face and also practice sports psychology.

Feeling able to connect and communicate is the foundation of any relationship. The need to feel heard and understood is universal to all people. The relationship between the client and the therapist is a very unique one. I believe that the therapeutic process is a collaborative one in which the client and the therapist both take active roles. I am a NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a NJ Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, and Director of Community Counseling Service of South Jersey LLC. Primarily a psychotherapeutic counselor for the last 25 years, I am also a published author, present personal growth workshops, lecture at conferences, and conduct professional supervision for my colleagues. The MSW initial next to my name means I have a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work. The LCSW initial means I have been licensed by the state of New Jersey to practice Clinical Social Work.
