It is my belief that beneficial treatment for all kinds of emotional difficulties lies, most importantly, in a therapeutic relationship. This way of working is informed by my psychoanalytic training, which involves listening, and then, reflecting back to you what I hear. By using this process, I can assist you in learning to hear yourself, and then, to use your newly acquired self-examination skills to make decisions, and analyze your feelings in a way that makes sense to you. Your gaining clarity is my goal in any treatment we undertake, and I look forward to beginning work with you.
My training is both varied and extensive. I earned BA in history the U of P, and I only attended grad school at Smith College after raising my children and volunteering in the community. I have worked in child protective services, as a school social worker, and at an inpatient psychiatric hospital, before beginning private practice.
I look forward to working with you on the problems that you identify, offering strategies that will help you to reach your goals. Those goals will become clearer to you, or they may even change, as we work together, through whatever challenges you are facing.
