Hi there! Welcome to my practice, SEED Services: Partners for Counseling & Wellness. We use evidence based approaches, including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and the Gottman Method for couples counseling to name a few. Currently, most of my own work supports individuals who struggle with high levels of self-criticism, shame, and the patterns of avoidance or over-striving that are often associated with anxiety, depression, problem perfectionism, and trauma. We also specialize in couples counseling and working with relational grief, or losses due to life transitions and "post"-COVID living.
I believe we can't separate mental health from physical, social, or spiritual health. Consequently, within our practice, we typically work from an integrated perspective. We incorporate attention to our social learning history, body-based health, and emotional experiencing as we explore the patterns of thought and behavior that shape our sense of wellbeing.
It's not easy being imperfectly human, and it's certainly not easy to do this alone in a world full of struggle, striving and disconnection. How we approach or avoid our joy and our pain are important factors in improving our sense of safeness, strength and life-satisfaction. Groups
Intro to Compassion Focused Living - In Person
This 8 session introductory offering will introduce participants to compassion focused practices that support self-care, connection and change. We will learn fundamentals of using compassion as a foundational skill for improving self-care, integrative health outcomes and relational connection to ourselves, others and the environment. Each session will include: 1) Psychoeducation; 2) Skills training; 3) Time for skills practice and reflection. Group is limited to 8 participants, ages 18 and older. The fee is $65 and statements will be provided to you for insurance reimbursement. Please speak to us about sliding scale fees if needed to support your participation.
