I have been providing therapy to children, adolescents, teens and adults for over 20 years.
Not currently taking new clients. I deeply value my relationships with clients and believe significant healing occurs in the context of a safe, supportive environment. I empower clients to look honestly at difficult issues and make the changes necessary to enhance their lives. I believe therapy is a collaborative effort where I help client's access inner strengths and resources and past barriers that are keeping you stuck in unproductive behavior patterns and unsatisfying relationships. The process of therapy often leads to greater self-awareness and self-acceptance, new ways of coping with life's challenges, and more fulfilling relationships.

I have experience working with clients of all ages with anxiety (including specific phobias) and mood disorders, and with children with behavioral problems.
Accepting new patients in November for psychological assessments only, not ongoing therapy! When we meet, it is in the forefront of my mind that making initial contact and coming to an appointment with a therapist can be daunting. In our work together, you are the experts on your experience. I use genuine curiosity and empathy to gain a true understanding of what is going on. Together, we can discuss how my experience and training can assist you. Therapy is not "one size fits all," and I encourage clients to be open in sessions about what is working (and perhaps more importantly, what is not!).

Prior to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, I worked as a School Counselor for over 10 years in both regular and alternative school settings. Some of my most important work has been with adolescents whose behavior has spiraled out of control due to feelings of low self worth and depression, manifested through conflict and fighting, eating disorders and/or self injurious behaviors. When teens gain insight into what motivates their behaviors, they are better equipped to move forward in a positive way. When they feel better about themselves, their interactions with others greatly improve.

Maya Angelou once said, "my mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." This is my hope for all clients and supervisees that enter the clinical relationship. As an Army Veteran, I understand situations can place a damper on our compassion, humor, and style but this does not have to be the new norm. Using an integrative approach, I focus on personal, psychological, and spiritual growth. I strive to assist clients with developing or regaining the power to shape their stories as a partner on their journey.

Maybe you want to strengthen your relationship with an intimate partner, are having difficulty adjusting to new parenthood or want to have a more fulfilling sex life after trauma. Perhaps current events are leading to anxiety, or you’re not able to take joy in the things you used to. Whatever challenges you’re facing, you deserve support.

Life can be filled with trauma, difficulties, and unexpected turns. It is easy to be overwhelmed by daily tasks or by unhealed wounds from the past. At times, it can feel like the struggles of life define us. When this occurs, guidance is sometimes needed to work through issues, to improve oneself, or to learn skills to manage symptoms and struggles.

The path towards healing takes our minds and hearts on a journey that brings up memories of early adversity, past traumas, and present-day challenges. In the face of adversity and trauma, we are biologically wired to adapt, leading to creative ways of coping that often no longer serve us in healthy, supportive, loving environments. I know this can feel overwhelming to process and navigate given the complexity of your lived experiences and the impact on well-being. I strive to provide a space for clients that gives them permission to explore what is still serving them as well as what they would like to let go of.
