I am a licensed professional counselor candidate (LPCC) who helps children, individuals, couples, and families work through challenging events, assisting them to thrive. Creating a non-judgmental, safe, positive, compassionate, and supportive environment is one of my ultimate goals. I have experience in helping individuals and families manage anxiety, depression, health & eating issues, loss of a loved one, addictions, life transitions, divorce, deployments, and much more. I have worked with both children and adults diagnosed with ADHD and Autism, as well as helped their families through challenging times.

Most children struggle with intense emotions and challenging behaviors at some point in their development because emotional processing skills are not innate, but instead have to be learned. As a therapist, my goal is not to fix, change or solve, but rather to empower, enlighten and support you on your journey to achieve your goals. I utilize a person-centered approach, combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and DBT with other therapeutic techniques to assist in gaining insight, self empowerment and personal growth.

I work primarily with children who are experiencing difficulties in school, social settings and family life. Much of the training I have received has been in working with those with neuro-diversity in which I use models of self-advocacy, self-expression, and self-esteem in order to obtain growth toward client-based goals. Goals often include but are not limited to increasing awareness of emotional sensations, building coping skills, lowering symptoms of anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns and increasing relationship skills.

I'm accepting new clients, especially telehealth clients, Sunday through Tuesday. I have some limited in-person availability on Wednesdays in Broomfield. It's so important to have someone to talk to - unfortunately we don't always have that opportunity. As a therapist, I strive to have my clients feel like they can be seen and heard in a comfortable and confidential setting. More and more people are having trouble knowing who they are or where they belong in life. What we were taught growing up or what we learn from society doesn't make sense or apply any longer. Because of this, we have difficulties from depression to questioning our own belief system. It may appear as confusion, anxiety, anger, or anything that disrupts our day-to-day life. When we feel this way it is a hurt or loss that is almost impossible to describe. My type of counseling presents people with an opportunity to understand why and how they think and feel the way they do and to go deeper than they could have possibly imagined.

My expertise includes working with kids, teenagers and their families in such a manner that helps them cope with issues of their daily life I fee content and happy working with them. I provide early intervention; restoring, rehabilitating, and supporting the effect of the child's diagnosis while reestablishing daily functioning skills. During sessions I believe in utilizing a person centered approach, cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness, play therapy, art and crafts, outdoors community integrations and usage of technology (games, internet) in a way that is productive for individuals.

It's so important to have someone to talk to when going through difficult times - unfortunately we don't always have that opportunity. I also value learning from my clients each session and help my clients to develop self-compassion. Hi there! I am so glad you’re here. As a counselor, I am passionate about serving my community. I hold my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. I pull from a variety of experiences in working in the mental health care industry including working with adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities, adolescents in school settings, adult and adolescent inpatient treatment, mental health and the outdoors, corrections counseling, private practice, and group counseling for transgender adolescents.
