I work primarily with children who are experiencing difficulties in school, social settings and family life. Much of the training I have received has been in working with those with neuro-diversity in which I use models of self-advocacy, self-expression, and self-esteem in order to obtain growth toward client-based goals. Goals often include but are not limited to increasing awareness of emotional sensations, building coping skills, lowering symptoms of anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns and increasing relationship skills.
Clients can experience: somatic dance/movement as a mode of healing, inclusion and communication, CBT and strengths-based approaches as forms of empowerment and client centered techniques allowing them to guide the process and experience freedom of expression, while holding space for cultural, social and learned norms, values and narratives.
I hope to create and practice a model of kindness in using the body's wisdom to build both individual skills and a sense of community. It is my hope that together we can create a space where difference is not only accepted but celebrated. I look forward to being a part of your process.
