My clients often come to therapy stating their lives feel consistently chaotic and out of control. It seems that regardless of all they have tried, they can't escape from recurrent depression and major ups and downs in their mood. They often feel even the most minor situation triggers intense emotional pain. They describe significant difficulty within their relationships and report at times lashing out in anger because of feeling unheard, empty, and disconnected from their real self. They may even try to regain control of their life and emotions through self-destructive behaviors like drinking too much or hurting themself.

Stigma and stereotypes can cause people to not seek help for fear of the unknown and being judged by others. I offer an open safe supportive environment for clients to discuss their issues with out judgment. My goal is to have an open dialogue with clients about their goals and outcomes in treatment. Grief, trauma and systemic oppression have increasingly become visible and universal experiences affecting individuals, couples, families and communities. I began my career working with the survivors of intimate partner violence and individuals/families grappling with cancer and death. These experiences have informed my practice working with individuals, couples and families dealing with loss, grief, trauma, anxiety/depression, major life changes, chronic illness, abuse and relational distress.
