An area of focus in my practice is working with parents, couples and families in times of adjustment and transition, particularly in the early years of parenthood. Parenthood can be very demanding especially when you're trying to maintain a career and relationships with your partner, family and friends. I work with clients to give them communication tools and self-care strategies as well as increasing self-awareness and personal insight.

I meet clients where they are, providing integrative psychotherapy to best meet each individual’s needs. My approach is collaborative, attachment- and strengths-based, trauma-informed, and psychodynamic. I treat a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, addiction, relationship/family issues, stress, and low self-esteem. My training in internal family systems, trauma-focused CBT, motivational interviewing, ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), and mindfulness are integrated into my work.

George is licensed by the state of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist and is an adjunct professor of psychology at the University of San Francisco. I also employ both EMDR and IFS (Internal Family Systems) with individuals, have worked extensively with cultural differences at home and professionally, and am a custody evaluator. I specialize in working with interracial, interfaith or LGBT families, as well as parenting and services for children ages 1-7. My practice is poly-friendly and has a social justice orientation.

Hello and welcome! I started my practice to help people overcome and recover from grief and loss, trauma and relationship issues. My therapeutic approach allows negative or problem situations to transform into positive solutions. I am a certified grief recovery specialist and also work with pet loss, relationship endings and life transitions.
