I believe in seeing and treating the whole child, removing the limits of labels without losing the focus of specific diagnosis and therapy in order to help translate the child’s challenges into their unique gifts. Often, challenges that surface in childhood are opportunities for growth and learning. They represent a chance for the child to find their authentic sense of self, of others, and of their place in the world. When these challenges are approached in a loving, supportive, and strength based way we can help the child grow more confidently into themselves.

I specialize in children, adolescents, individuals and couples. My approach to therapy is based on the premise that each person has the ability to lead a fulfilling and productive life. Stress, lack of knowledge, losses, family and societal pressures all affect our self-portrait. Therapy is a safe place where a person can develop a more accurate and healthy view of one self. Our self-image and relationships are not static: they are dynamically changing. My approach includes a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral, Person-Centered, and Family Therapy.

My interests include anxiety, depression, workplace issues, stress management, life transitions, values identification/clarification, mindfulness, and working with students and professionals-particularly those in the helping and medical fields.

Our work of joining to creatively support the insight and capacity for growth that lies within is profound and sacred. Life is a vast collection of experiences that we can't always be prepared for. These experiences can cause significant emotional and physical distress when we don’t allow for the process of working through them. I have worked clinically with teens, children and their families for the last 20 years. I use play therapy to help children with issues of anxiety, grief, attachment, academic struggles and transitions in life. I believe in working with the child/or teen and the caregiver(s) to explore the behaviors, and strengthen the relationships. I use music, art, sand and CBT skills with teens. I provide a safe supportive environment for adults, young adults to develop greater awareness of themselves. The goal being to assist them to achieve greater balance in their life and relationships
