I have also worked extensively with children and teens/adolescents struggling with behavioral, mood and impulse control issues.
Life can be hectic and stressful- relationship issues, childhood trauma, depression and anxiety can make things seem unbearable at times. I believe we all have the capacity to heal ourselves with the right guidance and support. Being a therapist is a calling and a gift- it is my purpose to help those around me find their inner strength and take the steps to live their absolute best life! Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment is of utmost importance to me- I want to ensure that all of my clients feel that they belong and are seen, heard and valued for exactly who they are.

I utilize findings from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Mindfulness, and Attachment.
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, but know that you're not alone in this journey. As an EMDR-trained therapist who prioritizes the mind-body connection, I understand the complexities of your experiences and the profound impact they can have on your well-being. I want you to feel seen, heard and understood in our sessions. Together, we'll explore your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, recognizing the interconnectedness between your mind and body. My experiences include working with individuals, families and couples with anxiety, trauma, life transitions, poor self-esteem and relational concerns.

I have specialized training in The Nurtured Heart Approach, Mindfulness-Based-Stress-Reduction for Teens & Adults, Mastery of Anxiety & Panic for Adolescents, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, & LGBTQ-Affirmative Therapy.
We are all searching for something and we are all on a journey. Some of us are trying to make our way toward a more complete and genuine sense of self and identity. Many of us struggle to utilize positive coping to deal with previous challenges and future obstacles. Others of us are young, experiencing intense emotions, and do not know how to handle them. Some of us are parents who genuinely want to be more calm and peaceful around our kids. And there are also many of us who are facing big life changes, feeling unprepared for what we will find on the road ahead. All of us need an experienced and supportive guide along the way.

Welcome to my practice. I have been in practice since 2007 and have been featured on ABC, NBC, and KCAL as an expert psychologist. I work primarily with men who have hit “rock bottom” and would like help getting up. These men are often in crisis when we first meet. The issues I address are typically related to unhealthy sexual behaviors, infidelity, financial recklessness, gambling, drugs/alcohol, dishonesty/lying, and relational conflicts. My therapy approach is a combination of psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, and the 12-Step recovery model. I also share insight from my own painful but redemptive recovery journey.

Mind Matters: Empower, Transform, Evolve. The highest form of healing is empowerment! All people can heal themselves, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Unfortunately, most of us have not been taught how to get better or do better. It requires self-awareness, a willingness to reflect and struggle with ourselves, including un-learning, re-learning and re-wiring both, our brain and our behaviors. It also involves knowing and understanding some basic, but essential, aspects of human behavior and neuroscience. But change, growth, and transformation is possible. My goal is to support you in moving towards your best life ever!
