I counsel individuals of all ages, and have extensive experience utilizing Peripheral Biofeedback and Neurofeedback as a treatment modality with individuals suffering with anxiety, ADHD, autism, frustration/anger, and behavioral issues.
Are you wondering if there is a safe, fun, and non-invasive therapy to help with your child's social, emotional, and behavioral needs? I work with children, teens, & adults with anxiety or attentional issues, and offer both bio/neurofeedback training and interactive metronome training. I also administer and analyze QEEG's. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have counseled for a combined 17 years in several clinical and medical settings and have a strong background in career/life coaching. I am also Board Certified in Biofeedback and Neurofeedback through BCIA, the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance organization.

Have you ever wished therapy was longer than a single session because you’re just scratching the surface? It doesn’t have to be like this forever! Invest in a Custom Trauma Therapy Intensive to get a head start while saving time and money in the long run. You don’t have the time, money, or energy to “test drive” therapists. Therapy is for you, the client, so I like to learn the preferences you want for how your sessions will go. This helps you feel at ease, heard, and understood from the start. (We start with Intensives at a higher rate then move to individual sessions but less frequently than if you were just starting.)

Adolescent and Adult anxiety is my thing! So many people don’t understand how powerless anxiety can make you feel. We will work together to develop new tools to help create the peace and happiness you are looking for. My favorite review from a client starts like this: “ I think about you all the time! I’m sure at times it didn’t seem like I was listening but your words and lessons are ones I treasure dearly and live by daily. You’re like my zen subconscious I turn to when things get prickly. Thank you for believing in me when I couldn’t believe in myself”

Biofeedback Therapists

Can biofeedback help with anxiety?

Biofeedback is often used to treat anxiety, including generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. Anecdotal evidence and some research studies have found that it can improve symptoms of these disorders, sometimes significantly; however, studies on biofeedback have typically been small and researchers have cautioned that many have significant limitations, such as limited follow-up or a lack of a control group.

Is biofeedback evidence-based?

There is some evidence that biofeedback can effectively treat certain conditions; for example, its efficacy in treating headaches and urinary incontinence is generally thought to be well-established. There is also promising, but less conclusive, evidence that it can aid in stroke recovery or help someone manage a mental health disorder such as anxiety, depression, or ADHD.

What is the difference between biofeedback and neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback that measures brain activity specifically; it is typically used to treat psychological or neurodevelopmental concerns such as ADHD, depression, insomnia, or autism spectrum disorder. Biofeedback is a broader category that, in addition to neurofeedback, also includes electromyogram, heart rate variability, and thermal biofeedback, each of which measures a particular physiological function (muscle activity, heart rate, and skin temperature, respectively)

What are the limitations of biofeedback?

While biofeedback may be helpful for certain conditions, its efficacy is less assured for others, such as high blood pressure. People with certain health conditions such as heart arrhythmia may not be able to benefit from biofeedback because their condition may interfere with the machines’ readings. Biofeedback can also be time-consuming and costly, and may not be covered by health insurance.
