For over 25 years as a clinician I remain passionate in helping children, adolescents and families who are struggling with emotional issues and challenges. I provide services for a variety of issues for children and teens ages 3-18. My patient and compassionate approach promotes healing and positive changes. I utilize a strength based treatment to empower children and teens to be successful and emotionally stable. I establish positive relationships with my clients, even those who are initially resistant to therapy. I follow their lead, knowing that establishing trust is the first step in the therapeutic process.

I chose to become a therapist after doing social work with children and families. Witnessing the trauma and the way that trauma impacted those individual lives caused me to develop an interest in and concern for individuals struggling with CPTSD, PTSD and childhood trauma. I have always enjoyed listening to people's stories and making a genuine connection. I believe in the healing power of therapy and the importance of the therapeutic relationship. I believe in the importance of active listening and making you feel truly heard, cared about, safe, and understood. The majority of my experience is as a child and family therapist.

My mission is to provide quality mental health counseling services to adolescents and adults seeking healthier solutions and support. An important factor in effective psychotherapy is the client/therapist relationship. This means that you must have a strong therapeutic alliance. Trust, honesty, and a sense of unconditional support and attunement allow individuals in psychotherapy the ability to grow and change. You can be assured that you will not be alone in this process, as I will partner with you during your personal journey. Our partnership will be combined with client-centered and evidence-based interventions.

My main specialty is adoption and attachment. I was adopted and have reunited with my birth parents and have worked with hundreds of adoptees as well as adoptive parents seeking to understand their child/young adult. I work best with those who are seeking insights into themselves. I can help guide you if you are looking to do some self exploration and find out why you keep repeating the same patterns. I have worked extensively with teens, young adults, and with parents. I have treated many families who are struggling with navigating issues related to family dynamics.

Setting healthy boundaries, reducing anxiety, adjusting to new seasons in life, adding healthy coping tools or prioritizing mental health is important. My focus is to provide a holistic healing space. Im EMDR trained & incorporate other techniques: CBT, talk therapy, solution focus, mindfulness, & walk/talk therapy. Im an approved AZ Clinical Supervisor.

As a REAL sports psychologist, I have a unique practice in that I specialize in working with athletes who have the desire to take their game to the next level. Being a competitive athlete helps me relate to other competitive people in sports or business. My primary focus is on confidence building and the elimination of performance anxiety. I use a 3 tiered approach to training: Perspective Training, Mental Skills Training, and Applied Settings (if applicable at a sporting location). I am the only professional to offer that kind of travel service. We also offer Coaching Certification Programs for those who are interested in teaching.
