I have been in practice for 37 years. During that time I have been dedicated to providing psychological services to an adult, adolescent, child population within inidividual and couples modalities. I specialize in the psychological treatment of eating disorders,anxiety and related conditions, mood states, depression, women's concerns, trauma, relationship and marital experiences, Asperger's syndrome. I understand that psychological and emotional issues are most effectively addressed and treated through empathic listening, attunement, support, and the fostering of insight and self-empowerment.

I provide counseling services to children and adults with the goal of helping people work through problems, reduce distress, and find satisfying resolutions. My counseling style is insight oriented, collaborative and supportive, and aims towards helping a person recognize and mobilize their strengths, reduce symptoms and move forward with life.

Intergenerational family dysfunction is not inevitable. I work with adults and children to untangle relational and behavioral patterns that are often foundational to the presenting problem. I take an integrative, strength-based approach and help the client identify perceptions and attributions that may be interfering with optimal self development and fulfilling relationships. This therapeutic approach is helpful in changing dysfunctional relational dynamics to those that promote growth and well-being.

I am a Licensed Psychologist with a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology. I specialize in therapy for children, pre-school through adolescence, and their families. I also work with a broad spectrum of adults and couples. I combine therapeutic play, mind-body and brain-based therapies, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral techniques to help children better understand their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. Through therapy, children can then learn to make better choices, have healthier relationships, and feel positive about themselves. My work with children includes trauma, grief, adjustment to parent separation/divorce, difficulties with mood, problem behaviors, social challenges, ADD/ADHD; Asperger's Disorder, and Autism.

My approach to therapy is practical With over 30 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults I focus my energy with clients on the present. I help my clients identify their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are creating difficulties for them. HI! I am an LCSW and have an additional therapist available in Northern Ocean County. I have been very successful with working with individual grief therapy, anxiety and depression, OCD, bi-polar disorder and everyday stress management. I can offer life coaching and have experience with health issues and end of life care. I also work with behavioral change. The key is to promote positive change and work on life management skills. Some treatment options are cognitive behavioral therapy, client centered therapy, and brief therapy.
