I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has experience working with adolescents and adults on how to cope with the ups and downs of life. Anxiety is something we all experience so learning to lean into all emotions and live well with the discomfort is something that guides my approach. If you are ready to invest in yourself, I would be grateful to be a part of your journey. I am a huge believer in the importance of the therapist/client relationship and truly think that the thing that leads to success in therapy is the connection.

The women I work with often come to me feeling lost, overwhelmed, or out of touch with themselves. I help women discover their inner strength and voice. Together, we address self-esteem issues and increase their self-awareness. For many women, all they need is permission and a little bit of guidance. I'm on a mission to help them listen to their inner wisdom, believe they can trust their instincts, and find the courage to honor their wants and needs.

My clients are adolescents and young adults with mood disorders, suicidality, and substance use disorders. They might struggle with life transitions, fitting in with their peers, feeling a lack of control over their lives, or finding reasons to stay alive—let alone thrive. Growing up around addiction, mood disorders, or general family dysfunction can make you feel alone. You don’t have to face those moments by yourself. When you’re feeling isolated or in the dark, I’m in your corner.

Sometimes you feel so exhausted you can’t get anything done, and sometimes you’re so on edge you can’t even rest. You’ve already tried on your own to solve your problems: you’ve read the self-help books, follow the popular therapists on Instagram and TikTok, and know the “right” things to do. You know you’re insightful, but insight alone isn’t shifting things. You speak to yourself unkindly, which doesn’t help. You want to have fewer ups and downs, or maybe you’re wanting to change a relationship that your friends say is toxic. At this point, you’re ready to try something new.

I work with older teenagers and adults experiencing conflict, which can contribute to anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues. Many of my clients are in transitional life phases when miscommunications and disagreements are most likely to emerge—especially with loved ones. I offer practical skills for communicating through conflict so clients can fully express themselves, feel understood, and use the situation as an opportunity to build the relationship.

When you don't feel like yourself and want relief now, you want someone who understands what you are going through and who can show you a path out of where you are stuck . My clients are people who are open and ready for help now and who want to make a deeper connection to their authentic self. When you are burned out, depressed or anxious, you want to know you are heard and seen and yet you also want to be encouraged to stretch out of your comfort zone. I approach this in a gentle, compassionate, holistic, way without forcing parts of yourself to do things they aren't ready for or struggling against parts that are in conflict.

I practice therapy while using a trauma-informed holistic approach, creating a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment for my clients to heal. I focus on the mind-body connection helping clients recognize the deep connection between the two and how our chemistry and biology impact our mood and emotions, as well as thoughts and beliefs. I am currently working towards a yoga certification to also help others find peace and comfort in body movement. I have a passion for helping those struggling with substance abuse, trauma, grief, relationship issues, self-harm, and all mental health disorders.

How can I find a therapist in Ewing?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
