We work with adults and couples to assist people with choosing solutions that help them improve their relationships by changing their behavior. We help clients look at their situations and problems as opportunities to explore their choices to work toward staying on track by meeting their goals in order to enhance their lives. We aid people in finding solutions for their problems instead of focusing only on the problem. This is a clinical outpatient setting and we help clients address all disorders listed in the Diagnostic Statistical Manual, 5th Edition - Text Revision (DSM-5-TR).

Welcome! I have 10+ years of experience working as a psychotherapist and tend to focus on childhood trauma, self-acceptance, and the idea that most of our well-being comes from within ourselves. I treat most mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors, substance abuse and relationship conflict. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can be the most healing part of therapy and tend to use that as a guide.

As an EMDRIA approved Consultant with certifications in EMDR, Brainspotting, and Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy, I offer evidenced-based psychotherapy. Stress, anxiety, and trauma overwhelm our systems. Symptoms can manifest in unexpected ways. There may be an identifiable trigger or we may not know why we feel the way we do. These brain-body modalities work with the self-healing aspects of our biology, restoring balance to the nervous system, and influencing neural patterning so that deep and lasting change can occur. Intensives/ customized accelerated therapy programs are available.

John W. Ormond, II, MSW, LCSW is a licensed Therapist in New Orleans located in the University District of Uptown, New Orleans. He is a Tulane University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Master's Degree in Social Work with over 25 years of experience in mental health. John's knowledge and expertise includes crisis intervention, grief counseling, anger management, anxiety, depression, issues with sexual orientation, and assisting clients in adjusting to and coping with life changes. John is a Certified Schema Therapist and a member of the International Society of Schema Therapy.

I enjoy following your lead to the topics and concerns that are most pressing for you. I also teach breathing exercises, meditation techniques, visualizations and communication strategies.
