Hello! My name is Dr. Jared Durtschi. My specialty is working with couples who are facing challenges, such as emotional disconnection, frequent conflict, considering divorce, growing apart, infidelity, substance use, and parenting issues. I provide discernment counseling to help couples decide if they want to work on their relationship or end their relationship. I also provide individual therapy to adults struggling with various challenges related to mental health, their relationships, life transitions, stress, and burnout. I use evidence-based treatments, my work is strengths-based, and collaborative in nature.

I help teens and adults reprocess and distance the pains of past hurts and traumas. Clients who engage in therapy with me are tired of emotions jumbling up their life and are tired of memories stealing their precious moments of time. Clients are able to reprocess painful and traumatic memories and start living life again without the sting of those troubling memories.

Brooke believes in the importance of clients being able to discover and nourish the meaning of their own story. Having a safe place to share one’s story, and work through life events is vital to the client/client’s experience. I think all of us could use a little help at one time or another. Difficult situations can get the better of us, and we need someone to help us remember who we are, figure out our options, develop new skills, and make changes that support our growth. Whether I am working with an individual, couple, or family, I see my role as helping clients remember their strengths and capabilities, and find ways to work with the people they care about to create solutions.

I offer diagnostic assessment services for persons of all ages, with an emphasis on developmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and learning disorders. I also offer empirically supported cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) for a variety of psychological difficulties. For adult clients I offer prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD and CBT for pain management. For children and youth I offer CBT for a wide range of mental health and behavioral problems.

My belief is that a safe therapeutic alliance is the facilitator of change and growth. There are many struggles that might impact a person’s reasoning for seeking therapy. I provide a supportive environment, focused on providing empathy and non-judgment. I utilize our relationship as the base for self-empowerment, modeling, and growth. Throughout therapy, I encourage self-reflection and asking questions about one’s treatment. I want to promote one’s self-advocacy, emotional intelligence, and understanding of self.

I work with individuals between the ages of 13-65 on issues related to: Addictions, marital/relationship struggles, anxiety/depression, overcoming fear and shame, living an authentic and purposeful life, embracing vulnerability, military men/women/families and death/dying/grief. I also enjoy working with professionals struggling with Impostor Syndrome and other professional issues. I believe that optimal mental and relational health is first achieved by establishing healthy habits in the areas of nutrition, exercise, mindfulness/prayer/meditation, and social connections.
