Hello and welcome! My name is Miya Edwards, and I am a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) in California. I am based out of the Inland Empire and provide telehealth therapy within the entire state. I work with adults to address anxiety, self-esteem, identity issues, grief, and depression, using narrative therapy to help each person I work with to develop a preferred story for themselves. My approach varies depending on the person, as there is not a one-size-fits-all scenario. Therapy is tailored to you, however, it is done so from a holistic, person-centered, collaborative, and comprehensive approach.

I have been working with VOC from the DA's office for over 10 years providing services to both men and women/children in crises situations. I work with CCC Superior Court, Family and Criminal to help individuals seek visitations with their children after an arrest or involvement with CFS. I also perform as a 730 expert. I provide couples therapy, reunification therapy. I see teens who are having trouble in school and at home. I work with whole families to teach communication tools and implement behavior modification tools. I am a systems therapist.

I consider myself a nerdy-geeky person who incorporates storytelling techniques in my therapy sessions. Caring for a dependent person with whom you have a previous history is uniquely challenging. Family histories and dynamics do not go away when someone gets sick. In addition to juggling the tasks of helping a dependent family member get through the day, caregivers are balancing obligations such as work, parenting and other responsibilities. One's own health and wellbeing, finances, and other roles and relationships can all be affected by the demands of caregiving. Finding balance and coping with ambiguity can be challenging, especially in the presence of emotional undercurrents such as grief, loss, resentment, guilt and overwhelm.
