I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is the foundation in order for any healing to happen. Trust and mutual respect is important for progress to be made and I spend time getting to know the client and what brings them in. The client is the expert on their life and their experiences, and I feel privileged to be the witness of that journey. Most of the people I work with are children, adolescents or young adults, but I also enjoy working with women and adults in areas of transition, family issues, relationships, parenting or looking for support or personal growth.
I specialize in working with children and teens and their families, who have experienced trauma and/or are suffering from various symptoms of anxiety, depression, ASD, ADHD, and/or externalizing behaviors. I use a client centered approach in helping clients heal, by working with various modalities and methods, based on client needs.
I was born and raised in Sweden, which has given me a bicultural experience in looking at issues and I empathize with others who are immigrants or who have different cultural backgrounds. Also, as a military spouse for over 20 years, I have lived and traveled all over the country and understand the military lifestyle.
