I know that family can be a source of stress and anxiety, but there are ways to help manage it. I help families effectively manage their marriage, parent-kid relationships, extended families, ADHD, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and more.

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. I believe we are always telling stories, and some can be painful to hold. I work with people who experience stress and anxiety from being stuck in the same old stories. I can collaborate with you to rewrite these stories so they focus on your strengths and values. I also work with people who feel trapped by stories others have told about them. These stories can feel like immense burdens we are forced to carry around for years. They may cause us to experience big emotions–grief, anger, fear. Together, we can find ways to change your relationships with these burdens in order to finally release them.

I use an innovative approach to help shift negative thoughts that can cause you to feel anxious, depressed, or angry.
If you feel lost and are struggling with issues like; life changes, feeling stuck, and depression, it can be difficult to know where to turn and how to get help. Maybe you feel like this more often than not, and it has become a new normal that you can't shake. What if there was a way for you to break out of this cycle? What if I could teach you to change your situation? As a Spanish speaking military spouse, student, professional, and mother, I’ve learned to successfully adjust to different cultures and new situations at any time. I can help you develop these skills too.

I specialize in working with couples using the Gottman Model, individuals in existential inquiry, wanting psychedelic integration support, and navigating and managing anxiety and panic.
I believe that human beings are capable of tremendous growth, love, and connection—and that none of us have to be stuck where we are. No matter where you’re starting from, therapy can support you in breaking out of “stuckness” and discovering more of who you really are. I relate to all of my clients as whole and complete, not broken or needing to be fixed. From that context, I’ll support you in discovering the barriers and obstacles to having your life and relationships really thrive. Together, we’ll explore some of life’s most important questions.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
