We resort to ineffective behaviors such as substance use, attempting to maintain our stability. The impact on us can be devastating and we can spiral out of control, often resulting in a disruption in our relationships, ability to work, ability to manage tasks and affairs and our ability to find satisfaction or meaning in our lives. Using mindfulness based approaches and Internal Family Systems to remove blocking emotions and beliefs can help find balance and promote healing.

In my work with childhood trauma, attachment/abandonment, addiction, and most personality disorders, my style is: Using existing resources, anxiety reducing modalities. Transforming reactive defensiveness into conscious responsiveness. Modeling integrity, mindfulness, and compassion for self and others. Reflecting cultural attitudes and beliefs to transform the past and embrace the future. Utilizing pet therapy to elicit healthy attachment.

I also specialize in healing the trauma of equestrian accidents.
