Evaluations include a comprehensive understanding of the individual's cognitive and emotional functioning. They target intellectual and academic functioning, learning/memory, executive functioning, personality, and psychopathology. Evaluations may be used for accommodations on standardized exams (e.g. ACT) as well as for Gifted and Talented programs. I also offer Pre-surgical Evaluations, Intellectual Disability Evaluations, and TBI Evaluations. Evaluations may be used to help guide academic (e.g. 504 plans, IEPs, or college accommodations) interventions.

Reaching out for help requires vulnerability and courage. To honor that, I both (1) strive to foster a nonjudgmental, collaborative atmosphere where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace and (2) ensure that our work together is grounded in empirical evidence. I consider it a privilege to hear about people’s lives and be a part of their journeys. I have witnessed the significant pain that attends mental health issues and so have a great deal of compassion for individuals who are struggling. I firmly believe that people can find more peace and meaning in their lives and move toward their aspirations.

Hello, I'm Brandon and I would like to help you have a better day. Life certainly gets busy and stressful, and we could all use a listening ear. I have a variety of life experience that has allowed me to be empathetic towards others, and I would like to help! I went to work for the State of Utah Department of Corrections. After 10 years as an officer, I attended the University of Phoenix to obtain a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and created Opportunity Center LLC in September of 2012 working with court ordered treatment, domestic violence, private insurance clients, EAP and First Responder support.

ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS: Whatever you resist will persist! I invite those who have an open mind for new ideas and seek to create long-lasting success to start that journey today. I believe that individuals have the right to achieve and be all they desire. We have the power and capacity to make a decision about what we are going to tolerate in our lives. I challenge each of us to get into a great, beautiful state of thinking, and living and fully enjoy the fruits of our labors. I believe that knowledge is only potential power, and we become powerful when we are courageous enough to execute that knowledge.

As a therapist group, we focus on restoring balance to daily life. It is our belief that trauma inhibits our ability to function to full capacity. Trauma reactions often create issues such as addiction, avoidance, anger, and panic. We utilize a simple method to reduce trauma reactions to triggers which creates a better balance in life, work, relationships, and self. We offer telehealth on a secure HIPPA-compliant platform for new and existing clients. All paperwork and payments can be performed via the telehealth platform.

Do you want to feel listened to, valued, and understood as you identify your goals, your strengths, and find solutions to the issues you are facing.... Are you open to learning, growing, changing, and ready to do something different... Then I would love to work with you. Amazing people are faced with life circumstances, ways of thinking, or relationship patterns that can get in the way of the kind of life they desire. I will stand with you as you learn to be more mindful of your thoughts, patterns, and behaviors while then making choices in line with your true self and potential.

I offer what other mental health approaches lack: a focus on spiritual solutions and emotional release. A Course in Miracles explains that "the purpose of psychotherapy is to remove the blocks to truth." The section on psychotherapy also explains there is "no order of difficulty in healing." Spiritual solutions have been my preferred intervention for over thirty years, in clients who deal with addictions, chronic depression, personality disorders and more. I prioritize working with leaders, influencers and practitioners to be more effective with others. My training goes beyond the traditional to soul-level discovery work.

As Christian counselors, we believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He came to reveal the Father’s heart & through His life, death & resurrection He decisively accomplished Gods saving work. He engages us in the Divine Relationship that we were created by, for, through and in. We seek, along with you, the client, loving purpose, healing, & direction of the Trinity in the counseling sessions. As licensed therapist, we consider our efforts inadequate apart from the grace & presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are blessed & humbled to go to work each day & see Christ working in people's lives in an intimate way.

Hurt is a part of healing. Much like physical wounds, mental and emotional wounds also require attention and proper care in order to heal. However your wounds were acquired (relationships, addiction, trauma, loss, depression, anxiety, etc.) I am here to help you heal. I provide a safe, comfortable and wholly accepting space to help you heal whatever past or present wound that may be hurting you. Healing is possible and you deserve to live life without the pain of unkempt wounds and embrace all that you've overcome.

I also enjoy working with children as they navigate life. Acknowledging you need therapy is a brave step. I deeply admire you for taking it. Everybody has a superpower, you just may not realize it. Let me help you find yours.

Spirituality Therapists

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?

Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?

There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?

Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?

Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
