Kara is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Health Promotions and went on to receive a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling with an emphasis in EMDR Therapy and Play Therapy.

I am licensed in Idaho and Oregon and am doing Face to Face and Telehealth. I am located in Boise, Idaho. The last 15 of 25 years in the field have been focused on Substance Use Disorders, Trauma and Military Issues. I have been given the opportunity to be certified in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Interpersonal Psychology and have a solid back ground in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family and Couples work, Personality Disorders, Depression, Narrative Work and Grief Counseling. Having worked in residential drug and alcohol treatment for over 10 years I bring those years of resources and compassionate experience to my work. My focus on family systems and attachment allow me to treat the entire family, offering the best possible outcomes. I am a Certified Trauma Specialist, a Gottman trained couples therapist and I am one of the few therapists working with Internet and Gaming Addiction.

I have been at this for a long time and I feel that people know what's best and what they want for themselves, but they don't know how to get there at times.
