Whether you are struggling with a relationship, anxiety, depression, trauma or just feeling stuck, you don’t have to do it alone. Life is full of experiences that may mold us into someone we don’t want to be. Sometimes, we carry around anger, fear or feeling like "if I just attain this goal, then I'll be happy". The happiness we find so often is fleeting. Let’s work together to find the contentment and resilience you have been searching for to begin genuinely enjoying life again.

I specialize in the treatment of C-PTSD focusing on generational and spiritual truama along with recovery from narcissistic abuse.
Every one of us is created with certain gifts and abilities that help us find meaning and purpose specific to who we are. We are also created to be relational beings able to live and experience life in the company of others. When events disrupt the natural processes of life, it is good to know you have someone to help you navigate through these confusing times. Good mental health is an important element in the human experience and should never be ignored or set aside. Especially now.

Through a variety of trauma informed modalities (including NARM and IFS) we will work on strengthening trust, connection and authenticity.
Being a human happens. Struggle happens. Fear happens. Hurt happens. Stuckness happens. Whatever you're going through...happens. Now what? If you're human, like me, you might avoid it, numb it, push it down, sleep more, drink more, eat more, do more and so on. Well, shit. That's not helping! So you decide to maybe talk to someone. Yay, you! I'm so glad you did. If you learn anything from this search process, know this; you are not defected or broken. You are a complex human and that's a good thing. You are capable of of not only the hard-of-life, but the ease, joy and the pleasure too.

I also am passionate about working with people who have experienced trauma, particularly developmental and relational trauma.
Life can be painful, and it can be hard to know where to turn when we feel like we’ve exhausted all our options. Wherever you are hurting, whether it be in family relationships, romantic relationships, your relationship with yourself, or your relationship with the world around you, I’m here to help you find the wound and learn how to heal it. I am passionate about working with LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families to ensure you get the best care and support possible. I know how difficult it can be to find an affirming, celebratory space for marginalized folx and strive to offer that for my clients.

Has trauma, anxiety, or depression overtaken your life? Asking for help takes a tremendous amount of courage. Whether you are a child or an adult, we will all need help at some point in our lives. One of my favorite quotes is “The greatest source of human suffering is the lies we tell ourselves”. Are you telling yourself that you are alone, losing control, or going crazy? Your problems are normal. And help is possible.

While I see clients experiencing a range of issues, a good portion of the work I do focuses on trauma, identity, relationships, and sexuality.
The focus of my work is to provide therapy for individuals and couples who are in pursuit of self-awareness, acceptance, healing, and wholeness. My relational approach creates space to honor each person, story, and process. In the midst of continual transformation, sometimes we get stuck, and I find it a privilege to journey with others on their path. On the road to your best self, I hope to be a helpful guide to walk with you through the pain you are experiencing.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
