I have worked primarily with adults, older adults, and adolescents on issues of mental health that may be impacting one's ability to function in day-to-day life such as: depression, anxiety, other mood and thought disorders, suicidality (for individuals as well as those bereaved from suicide losses), interpersonal violence, LGBTQIA+ support, topics surrounding race and culture, hoarding (both individuals affected and their loved ones), criminal justice system-involvement, and trauma (individual, intergenerational, and community).

Tom Galten's therapy style is relaxed and he seeks always to create an atmosphere of trust and good will. Tom sees people of all ages and conducts sessions with families, couples and individuals. He is accustomed to addressing any and all challenges which people typically bring to counseling. In addition to his clinical degrees, Tom also holds a Masters Degree in Pastoral Counseling, which has prepared him well to comfortably address the spiritual issues about which many people report concern. Dr. Steve Byers is excited to bring his talent to our communities! He is a licensed clinical psychologist that specializes in testing and assessment, plus offers individual therapy sessions. His person centered approach assists clients in developing goal orientated recommendations that allow clients to perform at their highest ability. Dr. Byers utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to acceptance and commitment, and more in between! His sessions will guide teens and adults in becoming comfortable with regulating their emotions and dealing with life’s challenges in a healthy manner.

I am the founder of the Relationship Center of Milwaukee, a group practice that focuses on providing couples with the skills, insights, and courage to develop themselves and their relationships. My 30-year experience as a psychologist and psychoanalyst has reinforced my belief that people heal, change, and grow in connection to others. Love relationships are simultaneously the greatest source of comfort and happiness in our lives, but also potentially the greatest source of intense stress and misery. Yet, we keep on trying. I find that clients who benefit from my services are typically experiencing excessive stress or a personal crisis in their lives. They may struggle with feelings of anxiety, grief, guilt or depression on a periodic or chronic basis; they may face work problems or ongoing health problems that increase their psychological distress; they may also feel confused or disheartened by relationship problems with partners, family members or friends. I am able to assist these clients by helping them understand the underlying source of their problems and by developing realistic alternatives that can help resolve these issues.

It is that striving for which all other striving is merely preparation.” His writing speaks to the immense psychological importance of our closest relationships. I have done extensive work with general adult mental health and substance abuse, and I enjoy an integration of various holistic approaches to therapy. Brian is an exceptionally open, kind-hearted therapist providing emotional safety for clients to explore their concerns. With warmth and humor, he assists clients struggling with a wide range of concerns including addictions (heroin, alcohol, cocaine, marijuana, etc.), anxiety, depression, self-worth, trauma, conflicts, and family or other relationship issues. Upon resolving initial concerns, clients are offered time and a safe place to process and work towards developing strategies to maintain a stable mind and a more fulfilling life.
