My ideal client is someone who recognizes the need for change in their life, but may not know how to go about it to produce positive results. I treat adults and teens who are struggling with trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, and relationship /situationship issues. In addition, cultivating self-awareness and figuring out what goals you have is a big part of therapy no matter what you come in with and is something everyone could benefit from. Being open to talk about hard things is difficult, but also very brave. I see it as a privilege to get to work with those who are ready to make that step in a safe validating environment.

Teresa works with woman’s issues by allowing them to reclaim their sense of self and strengthen their ability to trust taking the lead in their life without feeling exhausted, stuck or lost. In the therapeutic relationship we remember, reclaim, recognize and renew the connection to one’s center discovering that living with peace is an inside job. Together we work through emotional issues related to transitions experienced in different life phases from adolescents into adulthood and beyond.

Our therapists, Colleen, Vern, Suzy, Sheana, & Ervina are trained in a variety of backgrounds including social worker & marriage & family therapy. They are experienced in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, PTSD, among other diagnosis. We offer individual, couple and family sessions.

As a licensed marriage and family therapist in private practice since 2014, I have experience working with people of all ages and from varied backgrounds. If you are living with depression or anxiety, having trouble managing a major transition or stressor, wading through grief, or seeking support in coping with difficult emotions or traumatic memories, I would be happy to work alongside you in identifying the resources you need to manage these difficulties successfully. I offer services to adults, teens, individuals, and families. I am focused on highlighting your strengths and supporting you in identifying your own solutions.

I enjoy working with all client types, but take a particular interest in working together with women to help in the process of building and furthering their individual level of internal strength, confidence and empowerment. Working with family systems, parenting coaching, and partners dealing with divorce or separation is also a passion of mine.

Are you tired of your struggle with anxiety? Do you worry or obsess excessively? I specialize in providing treatment for anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, and phobias to children, teens, and adults. I also work with individuals who suffer from depression, tic-related disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and skin-picking disorder (excoriation). I specialize in using the gold standard treatment for OCD: exposure with response prevention (ERP). I specialize in using Acceptance & Commitment Therapy to treat OCD & the above-mentioned conditions.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, based in Louisville, KY. I am currently providing services via telehealth and in person. I primarily work with adolescents and adults who are seeking help with mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders. I also work with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community seeking LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy.

As of 4/1/24 I will be at the Dupont office only. Wednesdays 10:00-5:00 in person and Thursdays 10:00-5:00 for telehealth. We all face times in our lives where daily stressors or life challenges affect our ability to maintain a sense of well-being. When our mental health is affected it sometimes feels like depression or anxiety or having difficulty expressing our emotions in healthy ways.
