It is hard to know when to seek help and where to find it. I offer one free consult session to help you figure it out. I work with college age students struggling with family, social, relationship, and identity stressors, as well as anxiety, panic, and depression. I also enjoy partnering with children and teens to address depression and anxiety; especially when there is comorbid ADHD or Autism. At times, when a young person has a concrete diagnosis, I can offer short term targeted treatments for OCD, anxiety, impulsivity, organizational skills at home, and social and emotional skills. Resilience is at the core of my work.

My group practice specializes in the treatment of trauma spectrum disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder, dissociative disorders, trauma-related pain, and trauma-related somatic symptoms. Ongoing experiences of verbal, physical, or sexual abuse, neglect, and bullying can lead to these symptoms. Sometimes people suffer these effects because they have experienced chronic invalidation. We treat couples, people in non-traditional partnerships, adolescents who struggle with emotional and behavioral problems. We also treat survivors of sexual violence and targets of workplace bullying.

My approach is influenced by C.G. Jung, Viktor Frankl (Man's Search for Meaning) Socratic dialogue, Buddhism and Quaker meetings. I work best with the person who sees their life as a journey of self-discovery. I will help you uncover the solutions that you already have and see the problematics of those solutions. I will help you listen to your muse, interpret your dreams, identify your interpersonal patterns and face the fears and anxieties that haunt you. I will treat your troubles with the utmost respect because they help you learn and grow. Gratitude softens pain. I find parallels between creativity & spiritual inspiration.

Feeling stuck or unfulfilled in different areas of your life? Would you like support that is professional and confidential? Unlike talking to friends and family, therapy offers a safe space where you can put words to things that are difficult to say, and confront things from your past that seem to interfere with your life in the present. Therapy can lead to deeper self-awareness and insight that can empower you to make the changes you need to live your best life. Everyone has the power to grow and heal with the right conditions and tools.

We often forget we are human. We experience various emotions linked to powerlessness and loss of control. It can be extremely difficult navigating these emotions alone and feeling stuck not knowing what steps to take. Words can become inaccessible but that doesn't last for long. Warm welcome, I'm Pourcher and I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I'm a Bronx, NY, native with a passion for holding space for others.

Please note: Currently offering clinical supervision only. Working as a therapist is often a career that can feel like a calling. Without regular supervision, we risk becoming complacent, avoiding challenges and the possibility of new growth. This can have an adverse impact on our clients, can lead to stagnation and, potentially, burnout. However, through attuned supervision you can have a safe space to explore your own challenges in your clinical practice, build enhanced personal insight, effectiveness and, potentially, new skills.

Empowering you to confront your fears, challenges, insecurities and trauma to rewrite your story and create the life you desire is my favorite thing to do as a therapist. I will meet you where you are, free of judgement, with compassion and support. Sometimes, we all need to be reminded of our strengths. Let me help you remember these strengths and use them to focus on your goals while developing an action plan to achieve these goals.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
