She has over 10 years of experience in psychiatry as both a psychiatric registered nurse and nurse practitioner. She believes each individual has their own story, challenges and perspectives that influence their mental health. I'm a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specializing in working with adults in behavioral health. Funmi's experience in adults diagnosed with ADHD, ADD, mood, and anxiety disorders, including Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety, and PTSD. I have devoted 21 years of experience in treating patients with mental health. Practicing kindness and compassion has been essential. Accepting New Patients. I'm a dual certified FNP/ PMHNP. Taking a holistic approach is important to me and I feel this approach is of most benefit for my clients. I enjoy helping all types of clients but I gravitate towards working with individuals who are reaching out for help for the first time. This is because I feel I offer a positive initial encounter that will encourage them to continue seeking help in order to reach their goals but I will work with any client that needs assistance. Accepting New Patients: I’m a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years’ experience in healthcare. I treat Children ages from 8 years old up and Adults with a focus on Psychiatric Medication Management. I take a “start low and go slow” approach to prescribing, paying special attention to medication potency and potential interactions with other medications prescribed by other providers. I also believe “knowledge is power,” so together, we spend time on education and explanation so that you understand the recommendations provided and you are fully comfortable with the treatment plan.

Dr. Altagracia Gomez Aracena is a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Instituto Tecnologico and completed her residency and subsequently her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, where she was appointed Chief in both programs. She has been working as an attending psychiatrist at Robert Wood Johnson- Barnabas Health covering adult program and the child and adolescent outpatient clinic.
