My approach is to help people with problems with love and work. There are two kinds of love: (1) human sexuality and (2) love writ large as mutual affection and caring. Work provides a livable income, food and shelter, and a sense of success. It can be unsatisfactory, compounded by clashes between employers or among the workers themselves. When love and work are threatened by loss, the reaction may be one of anxiety, all the way to panic. When love and work get lost, the reaction will be grief or depression, low self-esteem, helplessness and hopelessness, even an urge to die.

Hi! My name is Dr. Sara Chun, MD. I am a board-certified psychiatrist who provides medication management. I hope to provide an informative space for patients to consider different treatment options and collaboratively find their personal balance between therapy, skills, and medicine. I also want to understand any questions or apprehensions that folks may have about taking psychiatric medications. While I primarily manage medications, I incorporate cognitive behavioral, dialectic, and psychodynamic therapy approaches into my sessions in hopes of making our meetings more useful and robust.

Elie G. Aoun, MD, MRO, is a Columbia University, quadruple board certified psychiatrist licensed in New York and in California practicing in downtown NYC. Dr. Aoun trained in general psychiatry at Brown University, in addiction psychiatry at UCSF and in forensic psychiatry at the combined Columbia University and Cornell University program. He has additional expertise in neuro-psycho-endocrinology and psychotherapy. Dr. Aoun provides diagnostic evaluations including second opinions, treatment for psychiatric disorders using psychotherapy, medication management , and forensic evaluations for civil and criminal litigation.

I treat executives and high functioning people with addiction and alcoholism, many have underlying disorders such as general anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive/compulsive disorders, and adult ADD/ADHD. I worked as an internist before training in psychiatry and then in psychoanalysis. My patients are generally people who are unhappy in some way in spite of their success in their career or family life or both - often people for whom medication and psychotherapy has not worked or worked only partially in the past . Most of my work is insight oriented talk therapy or psychoanalysis. However some patients whom I see only for medication I see only a couple of times each year.
