I started my career as a nurse in a state-run psychiatric emergency room where I treated patients along the entire spectrum of psychiatric illnesses; many of whom were in the most emotionally vulnerable time in their lives. Having experienced this severity of psychiatric illnesses everyday allowed me to develop a level of expertise to quickly recognize symptoms and develop an accurate diagnosis so we can initiate the best treatment plan for you from the very beginning. I understand that those suffering with emotional pain cannot wait months for relief, and they shouldn't have to. I understand the need for rapid healing.

As a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I am an expert in providing mental health care to adults and the geriatric population. My approach is collaborative and focused on responding to the needs and priorities of individual clients. Common challenges my clients seek treatment include anxiety, panic attack, post traumatic stress disorder, depression, mood disorder, sleep disturbances, psychotic episodes, and various dementia related behavioral challenges. My practice model also includes psychotherapy techniques in addition to medication management.

My goal has always been for patients to have the least amount of medication that is effective for them. Dr. Jacqueline Lewandowski is a board-certified physician specializing in adult psychiatry. She obtained her undergraduate degree from New York University where she studied psychology and child/adolescent mental health. Before moving back to New York, Dr. Lewandowski received her medical degree from St. George's University in Grenada to complete her residency at Morningside and West Mount Sinai Hospitals. Since completing training, Dr. Lewandowski has practiced and held teaching positions. Dr. Lewandowski has a wide range of experience treating various psychiatric diagnoses and populations.
