Hello, I am Dr. Shilin Pandya, Board Certified Psychiatrist. I have been helping people just like you for many years. I concentrate on treating the whole patient and not just the symptoms of a problem. This holistic approach takes into account any factors affecting you - culture, job, school, medical issues, family, religion, sleep, appetite, past trauma, etc. Issues that are unique to every human being and require individual attention and treatment. I believe a comprehensive assessment, a working alliance with clients and families, and collaboration with all treatment providers should be the foundation of any treatment. I am a dual board certified adult and child-adolescent psychiatrist with extensive experience in treating patients with complex emotional and behavioral challenges. I am well adept at addressing issues ranging from depression, to ADHD, to behavioral issues, to struggles with addiction. I believe in balancing multiple psychotherapeutic modalities with psychopharmacology.

I have worked in the Mental Health field for over 30 years and have treated adults ranging in age from 18 to 80. I have also done extensive work with couples and families. My clients have had a wide variety of presenting problems from depression, anger management, relationships issues, anxiety, mood disorders, marital problems, phobias and obsessive compulsive behaviors. I see my client as a whole person not as a person with a problem. A person with strengths and weaknesses. Our job together is to find the answers and develop the skills to move forward to an enriching life.

In my practice, I use a holistic approach to wellbeing. I help patients who are interested in exploring traditional psychiatric medication in tandem with alternative, and energy medicine. I ask the question: what disrupts your connection with yourself and the world around you? Whether the cause for the disconnect be traumatic events, bouts of depression. persistent anxiety or the inability to cope. Together, we will find the issue/block that is troubling you as a whole person. We view wellbeing as a combination of the heart, mind and body.

As a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I have worked with clients across the lifespan, specializing in depression and anxiety disorders, mood dysregulation, trauma, addictions, attachment disruptions, and those struggling with adjustment and difficult transitions through life. My main approach to treatment is developing a collaborative relationship with my clients to enhance and foster an environment where patients feel validated while working to improve their psychosocial functioning.
