I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist with over ten years of experience treating various psychiatric conditions including depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, anxiety disorder, co-morbid substance use disorder, and psychotic disorder. My goal is to ensure that patients have a positive experience while seeking psychiatric treatment by establishing a patient-centered environment that promotes privacy and patient comfort.

Dr. Shari Sengupta attended the University of OK as a National Merit Scholar and went on to graduate from from Eastern Virginia Medical School. She specialized in Adult Psychiatry at the University of NC Hospitals where she was a chief resident. She received psychotherapy training in insight-oriented and cognitive-behavioral approaches and trained at the Psychoanalytic Institute of the Carolinas. She has 18 years of experience providing medication management and psychotherapy in both private practice and community mental health settings and over 10 years of experience in telepsychiatry providing care to underserved communities.

I provide medication (combined with counseling if you you wish!) to help you reach your mental health goals. I informal, non-judgmental, and have no issue with bad words or loud laughs. She received her medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and completed her Internship & residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. Before joining the outpatient psychiatry team at CareMind Health/Mindoula Clinical Services, Dr. Mak worked as a Staff Psychiatrist for the San Diego Amer. Indian Health Center and for the U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Mak has held a Faculty position with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Dr. Mak is currently a Navy Reserve Officer.
