Dr. Swaminathan Thangaraj is board certified in both adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. He received his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, then completed general psychiatry residency at Drexel College of Medicine, followed by child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Before joining the outpatient psychiatry team at CareMind Health/Mindoula Clinical Services, Dr. Thangaraj worked as a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Sheppard-Pratt Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, and McLean Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Thangaraj evaluates and manages patients virtually via telehealth, and has expertise in treating children and adults with a wide variety of conditions including ADHD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders, among others. He is accepting new patients and is licensed to provide care to patients residing in MD, DC, VA & NC
Most insurances are accepted for patients living in MD, DC, and VA, including Kaiser and Medicaid. For North Carolina patients, Dr. Thangaraj is only accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina, Medicare, and private pay at this time.
